Mechanistic Interpretability of LLM Behavior: A Survey
Submitted: 23 October 2026 You are already at the latest version Mechanistic interpretability seeks to explain how internal computations produce large language model behaviors, yet findings remain fragmented across methods and behavioral domains. We survey 229 papers across five behavior families: epistemic, linguistic, reasoning, safety, and social behaviors. We introduce a framework distinguishing five levels of mechanistic evidence, from decodability to generalization.
Dedicated Convection Window Design for Activating Internal Self-Generation Convection to Accumulate Vapor Diffusion

Frequently amplified SHANK2 promotes esophageal squamous cell carcinoma progression through the DVL/YAP axis
Abstract SHANK2 is crucial for neuronal synapse development and has been implicated in certain tumors; however, its role in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) remains underexplored. In this study, the expression and prognostic significance of SHANK2 in ESCC were assessed through bioinformatics analyses and immunohistochemical staining. We examined the relationship between SHANK2 expression and genetic alterations across multiple ESCC datasets.
Tibial cortex transverse transport-derived small extracellular vesicles promote diabetic wound healing by enhancing angiogenesis and suppressing inflammation
Abstract Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is a severe complication of diabetes with limited therapeutic options. Tibial cortex transverse transport (TTT) shows clinical efficacy in DFU treatment, but its regenerative mechanisms remain unclear. Small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) have been implicated in bone-related tissue regeneration; however, their role in TTT-mediated wound healing has not been defined. A TTT rat model was established to investigate the contribution of sEVs to diabetic wound repair.

Data-driven risk assessment of hydrothermally altered goafs in deep metal mines via unsupervised typing and nonlinear evolution
Abstract As the “Resource Lifeline” strategy of the China National Gold Group (CNGG) extends to greater depths, its subsidiary mines encounter severe challenges, primarily characterized by tectonic fracturing, intense hydrothermal alteration, and data scarcity. Crucially, traditional empirical stability classifications function as mere “static snapshots” that fail to capture the nonlinear accumulation of hidden hazards, rendering them ineffective for early warning in complex deep environments.

Advances in proton therapy technology and global clinical applications
1 Introduction The physical characteristic of the Bragg peak in proton therapy enables the precise concentration of radiation dose within the tumor target while maximizing the protection of surrounding healthy tissues (1–3). Unlike photon (X-ray) radiotherapy, which exhibits exponential attenuation in human tissues and delivers unnecessary radiation dose to surrounding tissues, the proton beam loses energy slowly upon entering the body, releasing most of its energy near the end of its range.

Study of the Power Generation Performance of Impact Piezoelectric Energy Capture Devices
Abstract : In order to solve the problem of conventional energy shortages, a non-resonant impact piezoelectric energy capture device using a (polyvinylidene fluoride) piezoelectric film at low frequency is proposed, and related theoretical analysis and experimental studies are conducted. The device has a simple internal structure, is green and easy to miniaturize, and is capable of harvesting energy at low frequencies to supply energy to micro and small electronic devices.
Point-of-Interest Preference Model Using an Attention Mechanism in a Convolutional Neural Network
Abstract : In recent years, there has been a growing interest in developing next point-of-interest (POI) recommendation systems in both industry and academia. However, current POI recommendation strategies suffer from the lack of sufficient mixing of details of the features related to individual users and their corresponding contexts. To overcome this issue, we propose a deep learning model based on an attention mechanism in this study.

Simultaneous Removal of Selenite and Selenate by Nanosized Zerovalent Iron in Anoxic Systems: The Overlooked Role of Selenite
The application of nanosized zerovalent iron (nZVI) for reductive immobilization of selenite (Se(IV)) or selenate (Se(VI)) alone has been extensively investigated. However, as the predominant species, Se(IV) and Se(VI) usually coexist in the environment. Thus, it is essential to remove both species simultaneously in the solution by nZVI. Negligible Se(VI) removal (∼7%) by nZVI was observed in the absence of Se(IV).

The Fate of p-Nitrophenol in Goethite-Rich and Sulfide-Containing Dynamic Anoxic/Oxic Environments
Reaction mechanisms between sulfide and iron (hydr)oxides are well-documented; however, the effect of sulfidation of iron (hydr)oxides on the fate of contaminants in dynamic anoxic/oxic environments is largely overlooked. Taking p-nitrophenol (p-NP) as a targeted contaminant, we studied its fate during the sulfidation of goethite in dynamic anoxic/oxic environments.

Degradation of Tetrabromobisphenol A by Sulfidated Nanoscale Zerovalent Iron in a Dynamic Two-Step Anoxic/Oxic Process
A dynamic two-step anoxic/oxic process using sulfidated nanoscale zerovalent iron (S-nZVI) was employed to degrade tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA). In the anoxic stage, TBBPA followed a four-step sequential debromination pathway and was completely transformed to bisphenol A (BPA) with the optimal S/Fe molar ratio of 0.3. S-nZVI inhibited H2 evolution and preserved the reducing capacity of Fe(0). Fe(0), rather than the formed FeS in S-nZVI, was responsible for TBBPA debromination.

Construction of a composite photocatalyst with significantly enhanced photocatalytic performance through combination of homo-junction with hetero-junction - Catalysis Science & Technology (RSC Publishing)
Twinned BiPO has been confirmed to exhibit higher performance than pristine single-phase BiPO (HBIP) owing to the formation of a homo-junction between monazite monoclinic BiPO (nMBIP) and monoclinic BiPO (mMBIP). In the present study, further promotion of photocatalytic activity of twinned BiPO was achieved by coupling with BiOCl because of the formation of multi-junctions with a ladder band structure.
Retroperitoneal Castleman¿s disease: advocating a multidisciplinary approach for a rare clinical entity
Our patient presented to our institution with a rare, symptomatic, retroperitoneal, unicentric HV-CD tumor. Although etiologic factors continue to be elucidated [7], a major clinical challenge rests first on establishing the diagnosis of CD. An important initial step is a high clinical index of suspicion for CD in symptomatic patients [2]. Regardless of whether it presents as an incidental finding or a symptomatic mass, CD is rarely included within differential diagnoses.
