Biomimetic ferroelectric-semiconductor transistor enables neuronal multisensory integration
Abstract Human brain seamlessly integrates multisensory stimuli to synthesize complementary information for enhanced perceptions, depending on neural principles of superadditivity, inverse effectiveness, and temporal congruency. Replicating multisensory integration in artificial intelligences has remained challenging due to the inefficiency of algorithmic fusions and the absence of hardware-native mechanisms.
HuR coordinates systemic aging through platelet infiltration
Abstract Aging involves morphological and functional changes across different organs, but how these changes are linked among the different organs remains to be elucidated. Here, we uncover a central role of platelets in systemic aging. In aged mice, the levels of platelet-secreted pro-inflammatory factors (PSPF) increased greatly in the serum and platelets, leading to a diffuse increase of platelet infiltration in the brain, liver, lung, kidney, and aortic root.

Lymphatic platelet thrombosis limits bone repair by precluding lymphatic transporting DAMPs - Nature Communications
Abstract In the musculoskeletal system, lymphatic vessels (LVs), which are interdigitated with blood vessels, travel and form an extensive transport network. Blood vessels in bone regulate osteogenesis and hematopoiesis, however, whether LVs in bone affect fracture healing is unclear.
A Multi-Strategy Improvement Secretary Bird Optimization Algorithm for Engineering Optimization Problems
1. Introduction Optimization problems in engineering design are to select a set of parameters (variables) to achieve the optimal value of the design index (goal) under a series of relevant constraints [1]. Those confusions widely exist in various fields, such as production cost optimization [2], public transportation optimization [3], production decision optimization [4], structural design optimization [5], feature selection [6], path planning [7], and so on.
Fractional-Order Boosted Hybrid Young’s Double-Slit Experimental Optimizer for Truss Topology Engineering Optimization
1. Introduction Optimization problems are omnipresent across numerous fields within physics and engineering, and their importance cannot be overstated [1,2]. Especially in the fields of applied mechanics and engineering, finding the optimal or near-optimal solution becomes the key to enhancing the efficiency of the system, reducing the consumption of resources, and even determining the success or failure of the technology or product [3,4].

CD36 mediates SARS-CoV-2-envelope-protein-induced platelet activation and thrombosis - Nature Communications
Abstract Aberrant coagulation and thrombosis are associated with severe COVID-19 post-SARS-CoV-2 infection, yet the underlying mechanism remains obscure. Here we show that serum levels of SARS-CoV-2 envelope (E) protein are associated with coagulation disorders of COVID-19 patients, and intravenous administration of the E protein is able to potentiate thrombosis in mice.

Role of the Polar Proportion of Compound Collectors in Low-Rank Coal Flotation Upgrading: Insights from the Molecular Scale
Abstract : The compound collector, composed of polar and nonpolar parts, is a current research hotspot in low-rank coal (LRC) flotation because of its outstanding flotation efficiency and cost-effectiveness. However, the selection of compound proportions lacks theoretical guidance. In this study, we comprehensively investigate the internal mechanism underlying the influence of the compound proportion (oleic acid (OA):dodecane (DD)) on LRC flotation.

In Figure 3e, the values on the heat range map were inverted, and read ‘2, 1, 0, -1, -2’, while they should read ‘-2, -1, 0, 1, 2’. In addition, the ontology in Fig.
PEAR1 regulates expansion of activated fibroblasts and deposition of extracellular matrix in pulmonary fibrosis - Nature Communications
Construction of mice All animal experiments including euthanasia were in accordance with protocols approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. All the mice were housed under a SPF condition (12-h light/dark cycle, 50% relative humidity, and 22 ± 2 °C) with free access to normal laboratory diet (SZS9126, Xietong Pharmaceutical Bioengineering, China) and water and monitored by inspection twice each day.
The phosphatase PTEN links platelets with immune regulatory functions of mouse T follicular helper cells - Nature Communications
Abstract Beyond a function in hemostasis and thrombosis, platelets can regulate innate and adaptive immune responses. Hyperactive platelets are frequently associated with multiple human autoimmune diseases, yet their pathogenic functions in these diseases have not been fully established. Emerging studies show an essential function of the phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) in maintenance of immune homeostasis.
Moderately Hypofractionated Once-daily Compared with Twice-daily Thoracic Radiotherapy Concurrently with Etoposide and Cisplatin in Limited-stage Small-cell Lung Cancer: a Multi-center, Phase II, Randomized Trial
Abstract Introduction : Chemotherapy and concurrent thoracic radiotherapy (CCTRT) followed by prophylactic cranial irradiation (PCI) is the standard of care for limited-stage small-cell lung cancer (LS-SCLC). We aimed to compare the efficacy and toxicity of moderately hypofractionated once-daily CCTRT with that of standard twice-daily regimen.

Selective and rapid detection of mercury ion based on DNA assembly and nicking endonuclease-assisted signal amplification Sensitive and rapid detection of mercury ions (Hg2+) is of great significance for the public health control. In this work, an innovative enzyme-assisted target recycling amplification strategy is proposed based on an I-shaped DNA assembly structure coupling with endonuclease-assisted isothermal amplification, termed ID-EIA..
Synaptopodin-2 suppresses metastasis of triple-negative breast cancer via inhibition of YAP/TAZ activity
Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) represents the most aggressive subtype of breast cancer with a high incidence of distant metastasis; however, the underlying mechanism for this frequent recurrence remains unclear. Herein, we find that Synaptopodin 2, a putative tumor suppressor in aggressive cancer, is frequently downregulated in TNBC by methylation of the promoter of SYNPO2.
Heme oxygenase-1 directly binds STAT3 to control the generation of pathogenic Th17 cells during neutrophilic airway inflammation
Specific JAK/STAT pathways play a critical role in the functional differentiation of distinct Th subsets. Previously, we showed that HO-1, a stress-inducible protein, inhibits Th17 cell differentiation and alleviates neutrophilic airway inflammation, but the responsible molecular basis remains unclear.
