Structural vulnerability of an urban tourism flow network during a major holiday: a case study of Fuzhou, China
ABSTRACT Major holidays can concentrate visitor mobility around a few attractions and transport hubs, increasing the potential sensitivity of urban tourism systems. This study examines Fuzhou during the 2023 National Day holiday (September 30–October 6) and assesses spatial concentration, sensitivity to hypothetical node loss, and conditional spatial associations.
Two case reports of small cell lung cancer: typical CT manifestations, with one case illustrating adjunctive CT-based diagnosis without pathological confirmation
Abstract Background: Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is a highly malignant neuroendocrine tumor with rapid progression and poor prognosis. Pathological examination is the gold standard for its diagnosis, yet pathological sampling is unfeasible in some clinical scenarios due to various constraints, making imaging and tumor markers critical for clinical decision-making.

Large language models (LLMs) have shown proficiency in various software engineering tasks, such as code generation and translation. However, a key limitation in their performance may be their (lack of) understanding of programming-language semantics. Even when explicit semantics are given, it remains unclear whether LLMs apply those rules or lean on priors learned during pre-training instead.

Evolocumab in the treatment of refractory chylothorax induced by systemic lupus erythematosus complicated with hyperlipidemia: a case report and literature review
Abstract Recurrent chylothorax induced by thoracic duct injury in patients complicated with mixed hyperlipidemia secondary to systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is rarely encountered in clinical practice. A 55-year-old female patient diagnosed with SLE, whose predominant clinical manifestation was refractory pleural effusion, is reported in this paper.
Multi-Omics Profiling of High-Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer Reveals an Inflammation-Related Lipid Metabolism Subtype Associated With Platinum Resistance
1 Introduction Ovarian cancer (OC) remains the most lethal gynecological malignancy [1]. High-grade serous OC (HGSOC) accounts for approximately 70% of cases, with the majority of patients diagnosed at advanced stages [2]. Standard first-line treatment for OC consists of primary cytoreductive surgery followed by platinum-based adjuvant chemotherapy, and most patients achieve a clinical response. Nevertheless, disease recurrence occurs in over 70% of cases within a three-year period [3].
A coupled heat–cold island network framework for urban heat island mitigation: a case study of Central Fuzhou
Abstract With the acceleration of global warming and urbanization, the urban heat island (UHI) effect has become a significant environmental problem affecting urban ecological security and residents’ health. Current research primarily focuses on the independent effects of single cold or heat island systems, and strategies for mitigating the regional heat island effect remain incomplete.

Nucleophagy removes cytotoxic trapped PARP1
|
Abstract Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors (PARPi) induce cytotoxicity in homologous recombination repair (HR)-deficient (HRD) cancers by trapping PARP1 on chromatin, thereby causing irreparable replication-associated DNA damage. Although increased clearance of trapped PARP1 from chromatin reduces the sensitivity of cancer cells to PARPi, details surrounding this process remain unclear.

Primary breast diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (germinal center B-cell-like subtype): a case report and literature review
Introduction Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common and aggressive subtype of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, characterized by significant biological heterogeneity (1). DLBCL can be further categorized into germinal center B-cell-like (GCB) and activated B-cell-like (ABC) subtypes based on gene expression profiling, with the GCB subtype generally associated with a better prognosis (2).
Single-incision laparoscopic surgery with transabdominal postperitoneal approach for synchronous ileocecal and sigmoid cancers: a case report
Introduction Colorectal cancer (CRC) ranks as the second most common cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide, representing a significant burden on global public health (34). A key clinical consideration in the management of CRC is the presence of synchronous multiple primary colorectal cancers (SMPCC), defined as the simultaneous occurrence of two or more histologically distinct malignant tumors within the colon and rectum.
Mining regional co-location patterns in urban areas with considerations of temporal accessibility and regional structure
Abstract Mining regional co-location pattern (RCP) in urban areas can reveal local correlations among urban facilities, which can inform urban planning and development. However, existing mining methods lack considerations of user demand for temporal accessibility and user preferences for the regional structure. Therefore, the mined results may be impractical. To address these issues, we propose a novel RCP mining method with temporal accessibility and regional structure (TARS).

Simultaneous Achievement of Enhanced Nonlinear Optical Absorption and Nonlinear Refraction in Highly Crystalline 2D Covalent Organic Frameworks Ultrathin Films
1 Introduction Nonlinear optics (NLO) materials have been widely used in a number of advanced optical technologies including optical communications, optical switching, signal processing, photonic devices and laser protection, and so on since the invention of the laser in the 1960s.[1] As one important response of NLO properties, third-order NLO responses usually were concerned in the virtue of unique nonlinear absorption and nonlinear refraction properties.

ATR safeguards replication forks against APOBEC3B-induced toxic PARP1 trapping
Abstract ATR is the master safeguard of genomic integrity during DNA replication. Acute inhibition of ATR with ATR inhibitor (ATRi) triggers a surge in origin firing, leading to increased levels of single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) that rapidly deplete all available RPA. This leaves ssDNA unprotected and susceptible to breakage, a phenomenon known as replication catastrophe. However, the mechanism by which unprotected ssDNA breaks remains unclear.
The Masquelet technique triggers the formation of a network involving LncRNA, circRNA, miRNA, and mRNA during bone repair
Abstract Background The ceRNA network, which is competitive endogenous RNA, uncovers a fresh mechanism of RNA interaction and holds significant importance in diverse biological processes. The aim of this study is to investigate the molecular process of induced membrane (IM) formation in bone defects using the Masquelet’s induced membrane technique (MIMT), in order to offer novel insights and a theoretical foundation for enhancing the treatment of bone defects with MIMT.

Energy extraction from a Kerr black hole via magnetic reconnection within the plunging region
Magnetic reconnection within a highly magnetized plasma has been seen as a viable mechanism to extract the energy from a rotating black hole, as it can generate negative energy plasmoids in the ergoregion. For a typical accreting black hole, the ergoregion is filled with bulk plasma plunging from the innermost-stable-circular orbit. In this study, we present an analytical study of the energy extraction via magnetic reconnection process in the plunging region.
