The global distribution of macroalgal carbon burial in coastal sediments
Abstract Macroalgae play a pivotal role in the global ocean carbon cycle, yet the spatial distribution of their coastal carbon burial, a long-term sink relevant to national inventories, remains poorly resolved. Here, we present a high-resolution (5-arcminute, ~9.2 km at the equator) global assessment of the Macroalgal Carbon Burial Index (MCBI), a measure of how favorable coastal environments are for burying macroalgal carbon.
Spatiotemporal distribution characteristics and disease burden of human brucellosis in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, 2014–2023
Abstract Background: This study aimed to characterize the spatiotemporal dynamics and disease burden of human brucellosis in Inner Mongolia from 2014 to 2023, providing a robust scientific foundation for tailored prevention and control strategies. Methods: Descriptive epidemiological analysis and Joinpoint regression models were employed to evaluate the temporal trends and multidimensional distribution of the epidemic.
Soil carbon gains from salt marsh recovery in China
Abstract Coastal salt marshes in China, one of the few countries to achieve net salt marsh gains in recent decades, are important blue carbon ecosystems. However, the lack of national-scale assessments of salt marsh changes and associated soil organic carbon (SOC) dynamics limits our understanding of their climate mitigation potential. Here we show how remote sensing and machine learning quantify changes in salt marsh area and surface SOC across China.
Blockade of NKp46⁻ CCR6⁻ ILC3 autophagy protects against necrotizing enterocolitis by restoring energy metabolism balance in mice
Abstract Group 3 innate lymphoid cells (ILC3) are crucial in neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC); however, the underlying mechanisms remain elusive. Here, we identify NKp46⁻CCR6⁻ (double-negative, DN) ILC3s as the dominant pathogenic subset driving NEC via IL-17 A secretion, which disrupts intestinal barrier integrity. Mechanistically, Atg5 activates autophagy in DN ILC3s during NEC. Atg5 conditional knockout in RORγt⁺ cells mitigates NEC, reduces DN ILC3 accumulation and IL-17 A production.
Probiotic interventions maintain intestinal barrier function and alleviate necrotizing enterocolitis by inhibiting ferroptosis in intestinal PMN-MDSCs
Abstract Circulating polymorphonuclear myeloid-derived suppressor cells (PMN-MDSCs) and gut probiotics are crucial for alleviating experimental necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) in mice, yet the mechanisms linking intestinal PMN-MDSCs (iPMN-MDSCs) to specific microbiota remain unclear. Herein, we identified Lactobacillus (L.) reuteri and L.
A Global Dataset on Nutrient Removal Capacity by Marine Macroalgae - Scientific Data
Abstract Eutrophication driven by excessive nutrient inputs poses a growing threat to marine ecosystems worldwide. Macroalgal aquaculture has been recognized as a promising nature-based solution to mitigate nutrient enrichment; however, a systematic global synthesis of nutrient removal capacity across macroalgae species under varying environmental conditions remains lacking.

Gene Locus Mapping and Candidate Gene Screening for Branched Spike and Its Associated Traits of the Ynbs Mutant in Barley
1. Introduction The inflorescence of barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) is composed of an unbranched rachis and triplicate spikelet attached to the rachis node in a one-to-one manner [1]. A triplicate spikelet consists of three sessile single-floret spikelets [1]. The sessile single-floret spikelet is composed of two glumes and one floret. As a basic unit of sexual reproduction, a fertile floret can bear only one grain after fertilization [2].

Reconstruction of ocean temperature and salinity profiles in the Northern South China Sea using satellite observations
1 Introduction The northern South China Sea is a large marginal sea in the tropics with a maximum depth of over 5000 m and a variable temperature and salinity (T–S) structure with many mesoscale eddies, which mainly come from the unstable changes in the process of Kuroshio intrusion and wind stress curl changes (Wang et al., 2003; Su, 2004; Wu et al., 2007; Yuan et al., 2007; Hu and Hou, 2010).

Dipolar Collisions of Ultracold Ground-State Bosonic Molecules
Abstract The dipolar collision between ultracold polar molecules is an important topic both by its own right from the fundamental point of view and for the successful exploration of many-body physics with strong and long-range dipolar interactions. Here, we report the investigation of collisions between ultracold ground-state sodium-rubidium molecules in electric fields with induced electric dipole moments as large as 0.7 D.
