When Congress passed the so-called “big, beautiful” spending bill last year, which was signed into law by President Donald Trump on July 4, 2025, lawmakers approved $46.5 billion for a border wall expansion. That expansion includes a plan for a 175-mile stretch of 30-foot-tall steel bollard walls along the United States-Mexico border. The wall would be constructed in Texas’s Hudspeth, Jeff Davis, and Presidio counties, and notably in Big Bend National Park and the surrounding Big Bend region.

Servals are an African wild cat that, according to National Geographic, “look a bit like cheetahs who stretched out after a nap and just decided to stay that way.” The spotted cats are medium-sized with long legs and necks and are native to central and southern Africa’s grasslands, wetlands, and forests. They are exceptional hunters, using their long legs and large ears to scan over tall grasses, take huge leaps into the air, and run as fast as 50 miles per hour.

The first fully solar-powered luxury train in Latin America is rolling into the station: Argentina’s Tren Solar de la Quebrada. It’s been operational for about two years now, but the Quebrada solar train, located in the province of Jujuy, is still attracting new fans and tourists. The train can hold up to 388 passengers, with 72 seated, and is powered by a 352-kilowatt-hour battery pack.
