Landscape freakout #3: Our earth is not what we think
…people are under the misapprehension that the human brain is situated in the head: nothing could be further from the truth. It is carried by the wind from the Caspian Sea. (Gogol, “Diary of a madman”) Many would consider the map an artwork but as an intuiter, I resisted that temptation; I needed to see it as the tip of an iceberg. I needed to dive and resurface, dive deeper and so on. I was a highly qualified intuiter, but that did not mean I intuited all maps.

June 12, 2024 at 1:45 AM Students from a children’s centre have unveiled a “powerful” new sculpture, inspired by the famous knife angel. The Beacon of Hope in Weston-super-Mare, in Somerset, was designed by students to amplify the knife angel’s message of fighting against knife crime. The idea of the sculpture was created by students from Voyages Learning Campus, and was led and coordinated by local communities and artists.

Find it. Kill it. The thought has been bothering me and my fingers fumble, working back and forth on the mariner shell necklace. Walking home along the beach, I pull my coat tightly about myself, keeping the wind from probing the exposed skin of my neck. Across buttongrass and bauera and beyond the choppy harbour are Hell’s Gates, a wickedly shallow channel surrounded by rocks; they are cloaked in the blackness of an encroaching storm. The Gates are a slot breaching the edge of the island.
Are your Livestock Ready for Winter?
By Karen Johnson Recently, I was working with a farmer that was trying to get his automatic waterers functioning efficiently for winter. The heating element had been disconnected from dairy heifers playing with the waterer over the summer. Good thing he was getting the waterer ready for winter because he was able to find a defective float as well. How about you? Have you considered all the ways to get your livestock ready for winter?
My Son Started Middle School Today - From Home, From This Desk - And I Have All The Feels
Six years ago I walked this tiny boy into kindergarten. My oldest child, my first round of real “goodbyes.” I came home after the teacher literally pushed me out of the classroom and closed the door, and sobbed. Did I do a good job? Was he ready? How on earth was he going to make it all those hours without me? Surely he needed me for something. I stared at the clock. Time stood still. I was at school pickup 45 minutes early that first day eagerly staring at the dismissal door.
Wearing A Mask Sucks - Here Are 7 Ways To Make It Suck Less
Summer is the season so many of us look forward to—hitting the beach or the pool, BBQs with friends, road-tripping with the fam, and wearing minimal clothing as we bask in the heat and feel the sun on our shoulders. So listen, we get it that covering your face with a piece of cloth anytime you go anywhere this summer sucks. Like, a lot. Masks are already an adjustment—those ear straps can irritate your skin, your glasses can fog up, and it may be hard to find one that fits properly.
Chicken Potpie
Say goodbye to the freezer section forever. Once you know how easy it is to make homemade chicken potpie, you’ll never go back! There are several potpie recipes to choose from (and even a chicken potpie soup), but we find ourselves returning to this classic chicken potpie recipe time and time again.
