BENTON, KY — Kentucky State Police Post 1 released an update on the investigation of the murder of the Benton woman; KSP Post 1 believes her murder was a targeted incident. 49-year-old Lia Thompson of Benton, Kentucky, was found dead in her home on Wednesday, Mar. 19. According to KSP, Thompson's injuries indicate foul play. Her death is being investigated as a homicide.
