Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes, although I had a DOS dinosaur at home, I always loved the elegance and clacking noise of a typewriter and wrote many stories as a child.
How is social media changing news?
Social media creates short timely updates. We know more about now, but less about in-depth stories.

My favorite fictional journalist is easily Spider Jerusalem of Transmetropolitan.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No, but I spent my childhood in editorial offices watching my mother.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Pitch, revise, and pitch and revise. Keep going.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
The best story pitches I've ever gotten tend to be surprises that take me outside of my comfort zone.
What's your favorite drink?
Iced coffee, preferably with oatmilk. Other toppings optional, but don't talk to me before coffee.
