If you had told me 10 years ago that I would have my first feature in Opera Now talking about vocal health I would probably have laughed in your face. Back then my trajectory was clear, and my sights were firmly set on an international career as an opera singer. Anyone who met me at university would be surprised to learn that I was once a tomboy. Now twenty, I present myself in a very stereotypically feminine way. You could even describe parts of my style as ‘bimbo-core’. I love wearing makeup, pink, skirts, and dresses: anything you might call ‘pretty’. It is difficult to imagine me ever having dressed differently. But, from age four until the end of primary school, I exclusively wore ‘boys’ clothes.

Spring Flooding Risks High After Snow-Filled Winter

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Spring is definitely in the air. More and more people are heading outside to soak in every bit of sunshine after a winter packed with snowfall. As temperatures warm up, snow is melting into Utah’s rivers and streams, increasing the risk of flooding and fast-moving rivers. Northern Utah currently has between 110-140% of typical snow pack and parts of Southern Utah have 175% of the average, according to the National Weather Service.
