Thank you for your encouraging responses. Your powerful community support of the Payson Library has come alive! Mayor Steve Otto and Councilors Jim Ferris and Charlie Bell voted to defund the library a year ago.

She was an Arizona Culture Keeper – with shelves full of awards for her writing, singing and teaching.” You said it so well, Peter. She was a Payson star that still shines in all the hearts of those who knew her.

Know who you are voting for On Jun 4, 2025, Pete Aleshire’s article covered our town council meeting where they voted 4-3 to renew the normally routine agreement with the county library system, after a heated discussion about censorship and the display in the children’s section of “Sex is a Funny Word,” a sex education book for kids.
