Denise Cutler is happily “embedded” in Waterdown, the community she has called home for 13 years, and she attributes much of this sentiment to her volunteer work. “When we talk about volunteer work, generally, we talk about the people that we serve and who we’re working with, but I feel more embedded in our community than probably ever because it (volunteering) has created a ripple effect: new friendships and knowing more people in the community,” Cutler said.
