Dear You (2026) - Film Review - flickfeast

The latest Chinese family drama by Lan Hongchun, Dear You, is a rarity in contemporary cinema. A low-budget production featuring a mostly first-time cast, it is filmed in the Teochew dialect, which originates from the Chaoshan region of eastern Guangdong. Though it is not as widely spoken as Mandarin, Cantonese or Hakka, the film's homage to Teochew culture has made it a box office hit in China, grossing over 1.7 billion yuan in the box office.
