Black Saturday, bright hope
Even blocks away, we knew where the memorial was. The crowds showed the way. My daughter, son-in-law, and I simply followed the streams of black-clad mourners making their way toward a packed San Diego church. We had come to grieve two women, a mother and daughter, lost through one terrible accident—and to stand beside the four people closest to them: Dan, Alexis’ husband and Sophia’s father; Sophia’s young husband, Benjamin; and her two younger siblings Nyla and Jobe.

He didn’t match their specs
For more than a decade I have catalogued the stories of children who lost a mother or a father because adults wanted something and the law obliged. They almost always reach me when grown—in their twenties, thirties or forties, finally free to say out loud what they were not allowed to say as children. The child in this case is one month old and intubated in a Dallas hospital. He may not be able to share his story for another 20 years.
When Love and faithfulness Cause Offense
Family members who don’t attend a same-sex wedding are often shamed by the world, extended family, their own children, and even by confused Christians. But as with other high-stakes scenarios where trust in the Lord is the only thing to which Christians can cling, these believers will never be put to shame. Their conviction and decision will be vindicated in heaven, and often here on earth as well.

Gay Dad’s Disturbing Diary Illuminates Dysfunctions Of Buying Babies Original
This article contains disturbing information about adult sexual behaviors and children. New York Magazine recently published the sex diary of a 42-year-old gay dad living outside Boston. He and his “husband,” Gavin, have an infant daughter, Sophie, who was presumably born through paid surrogacy. At 10 a.m., Dad opens Sniffies, a location-based app used primarily by men seeking anonymous sex. Over the next seven days, he propositions a married man who initially refuses to show his face.
The Sexual Revolution “Liberated” Adults. But What About the Kids? - Katy Faust
I sat down with Katy Faust, founder of Them Before Us and author of “Raising Conservative Kids in a Woke City,” to talk about what adults are and aren’t willing to sacrifice for the wellbeing of children. Katy has spent her career defending children’s rights to their own mother and father, touching on adoption, gay marriage, surrogacy, and IVF.
The Unmaking of the American Family after Obergefell
This summer, Guy Benson announced the birth of his second child via surrogacy. Madison Halsey arrived in July, a baby sister to Conrad James, the son Benson and his “husband,” Adam Wise, acquired through surrogacy in 2023. Congratulations poured in from conservatives, including Nikki Haley, Dana Perino, and Meghan McCain. A smaller cohort on the right, led by Megan Basham and Matt Walsh, said the obvious thing aloud: Intentionally making a girl motherless should not be celebrated.
Log Cabin Republicans’ retreat from ‘T’ doesn’t make them conservative

Log Cabin Republicans’ Retreat From ‘T’ Doesn’t Make Them Conservative
Log Cabin Republicans announced this week that it is dropping the “T” from LGBT and will now describe itself as an “LGB advocacy organization.” President Ross Hemminger wrote that the shift returns the group to its original mission, writing that it is acting “as our founders envisioned and as our moral center calls us to be.” He described the move as a “recommitment to the disciplined advocacy that has gotten us this far,” arguing that the organization was “founded on principle” and that...

Do Not Go to the Gay Wedding
“My brother is getting married next year. To his boyfriend,” my friend told me. “We weren’t just siblings. We were best friends growing up, especially after our dad left and we had to pick up the pieces. Eventually, though, we went in opposite directions. I rejected much of what our parents had modeled for us. He embraced a gay identity and progressive politics. “Despite all that, I’ve really tried to stay close to him.
If You Want To Be A Grandparent One Day, Raise Your Kids To Get Married And Want Babies ASAP Original
Recently, some dear friends (double-income, no kids, politically centrist) were talking with my 23-year-old daughter and her husband when the subject of children came up. “How many do you want?” they asked. “Five or six,” my daughter answered. My friends were stunned. Not hostile. Impressed, actually. But understandably bewildered. As the viral AOC hormone-injection video illustrates, postponing marriage and childbearing is not only normal, but a hallmark of female empowerment in today’s culture.
The billboard they hate
When my nonprofit Them Before Us purchased billboard space in a couple of Midwest states we expected it to be a conversation starter. We did not expect it to go viral. What was our controversial message? No child has two dads. No child has two moms. The billboard has garnered both massive support and loud condemnation. It’s been highlighted on local news and mega accounts. Ohio’s largest paper, the Columbus Dispatch, reached out to me for comment.
Ban commercial surrogacy
OPINION: Three recent surrogacy stories made headlines within two weeks. In each one, it was the woman with no genetic tie to the baby who fought to keep the child alive. On July 14, the New York Post reported that a same-sex couple in Ontario is suing their surrogate for $600,000 after she refused to abort the 22-week-old baby they commissioned when an ultrasound revealed a cleft lip and minor heart defect.
‘No Child Has Two Moms’ Is Controversial Only In An Anti-Child Society Original
Last month, my nonprofit “Them Before Us” placed 19 billboards across Tennessee, Alabama, and Ohio stating an obvious biological fact: “No child has two dads. No child has two moms.” The sign faced immediate backlash and condemnation from local news outlets.
Why ‘No Child Has Two Moms or Two Dads’ Billboards Went Viral
When Them Before Us placed billboards across the Midwest declaring, “No child has two dads. No child has two moms,” we knew this obvious biological fact would ruffle a few feathers. What we didn’t know was that the message would go viral. We’ve been accused of being religious zealots, and we very well may be. But the billboard did not make a religious statement. The recognition that children come from one mother and one father is not a truth owned by Christianity.
The NYT had 4,000 sources at ARC. It quoted two who weren't there.
By , Op-ed contributor | A New York Times reporter had nearly 200 speakers, dozens of research papers, and three full days of programming to draw from. She quoted two people who weren't even in the building. That's the story behind Lauren Jackson's recent New York Times dispatch on the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship, or ARC — the London-based conference that recently concluded its third annual gathering. I was on that stage.

An eleven-year assault on children’s rights and needs

Don’t blame Kathy Hochul for erasing mothers and fathers. Blame gay marriage
New York is about to erase “mother” and “father” from state law. Justifiable outrage has erupted across the Right. But if you’re surprised, you weren’t paying attention. Bills already passed through both chambers of the New York legislature are on their way to Gov. Kathy Hochul’s (D) desk.
Republicans Supported Gay Marriage ‘Rights’ Until They Saw It Destroy Children’s Rights Original
Conservatives are jumping the gay marriage ship. According to a new Gallup poll, Republican support for same-sex marriage has plummeted from 55 percent in 2021 and 2022 to just 37 percent today. The reason is simple: Republicans were told that supporting same-sex marriage meant supporting their gay brother, daughter, coworker, or friend. They were told that opposing it meant they hated gay people, and many bought it.
The child-centered argument The Seattle Times ignored
On Mother's Day, The Seattle Times published a lengthy front-page article about my efforts to challenge Obergefell v. Hodges, the 2015 Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage nationwide. Readers learned where I live, my husband’s former and current employer, details about my childhood, what I earned last year, and even where I was scheduled to speak.
In Its Hit Piece On Me, The Seattle Times Proves I’m Right About Obergefell Original
On Mother’s Day, The Seattle Times published a front-page article warning readers about me — a Seattle mother of four whose central heresy is believing children have a right to their mother and father and should not be bought and sold. Reporter Jim Brunner identified my neighborhood, church, salary, family history, and upcoming speaking event. He contacted former employees, our board chair, and even my husband while he was deployed in the Pacific.
Christians must make dating great again
A new report from The Heritage Foundation confirms what many American scholars are panicking over: The United States is running out of babies. Fertility has fallen well below replacement levels, and policymakers are scrambling for solutions—tax credits, child allowances, housing subsidies. But the report makes something clear: None of these addresses the root problem. The primary driver of declining fertility is delayed childbearing.
Every Child Has a Mother and Father. Pennsylvania to Pretend Otherwise.
Every child comes from a man and a woman. But Pennsylvania Democrats want to make sure that reality is scrubbed from state law. That is exactly what HB 1800 accomplishes. The bill removes the historic definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman from Pennsylvania statute—language rooted not in sentiment, but in the biological and social reality that children come from mothers and fathers.
Parental law divided against itself
Is parenthood sacred—or sellable? Last month, courts gave a clear answer. In Mirabelli v. Bonta, the Ninth Circuit restored an injunction blocking California from enforcing policies that would require school employees to conceal a child’s gender transition from parents. The ruling reaffirmed a principle deeply embedded in American law: Parents—not schools, counselors, or state officials—have the primary right to direct the upbringing of their children. That principle rests on a simple premise.
How the Human Rights Campaign Makes You Complicit in Child Victimization
Thanks to the Human Rights Campaign, even conservatives may be helping fund child-mutilating hormones and surgery, mother-and-father loss, and the destruction of embryonic life—not through elections or legislation, but through burrito bowls, chocolate bars, and bronzer. That is the scandal exposed by a new report from Them Before Us, Harming Rights of Children: How the HRC’s Corporate Equality Index Violates Children’s Rights.
The Parental Rights Paradox
Two weeks ago, the U.S. Supreme Court intervened in Mirabelli v. Bonta, restoring a lower-court injunction that blocks California from enforcing policies requiring school employees to conceal a child’s gender transition from parents. The ruling reinforced a principle that has appeared again and again in American constitutional law: The parent-child relationship occupies a privileged position above and beyond the interventions of outside adults and institutions. That idea has deep roots.

Children are being objectified by design
What does it take for a Chinese couple living in California to mass-produce 21 children and counting? On those twin pillars rests the horror story of Silvia Zhang and Guojun Xuan, who ran a surrogacy agency, but kept the children for themselves, and raised them in a hotel-like mansion complete with a reception desk greeting a steady stream of unidentified visitors. Authorities discovered the operation only after one of the infants was taken to the hospital with signs of abuse.
Obergefell Has Harmed Children For Far Too Long Original
It has been ten years since the Supreme Court issued its Obergefell v. Hodges decision mandating that states allow same-sex marriage. Save a long shot attempt by County Clerk Kim Davis, no group has attempted any kind of legal challenge to the ruling. Until now. The nonprofit organization that I founded and run, Them Before Us, is spearheading a coalition to overturn Obergefell on the grounds that it victimizes children.
Big Fertility Is Just Modern-Day Harems For Billionaires, by Katy Faust
History is littered with powerful men who collected women the way empires collect territory, for the express purpose of producing as many children as possible. The dehumanizing “harems” that modern civilization rightly rejected are now returning under a new name: Big Fertility. A recent Wall Street Journal profile of Pavel Durov describes the tech mogul paying women to bear his children using his sperm.

Same-sex ‘parenting’ is an injustice against children – and the data prove it
(Them Before Us) — If you’ve ever argued against same-sex “marriage” or same-sex “parenting,” you’ve probably been hit with what your opponent thinks is a mic-drop: a link to Cornell University’s roundup claiming that 75 out of 79 studies show children of gay or lesbian “parents” fare no worse than other children.
Banned For Animals, But Celebrated for Children?
Last month, I debated a two-time (and currently pregnant) surrogate about the ethics of intentionally separating children from their birth mothers. Early in the conversation, she stated that reproductive technologies, including surrogacy, can be “empowering” for the surrogate, the intended parents, and even the baby.

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! Japan recently broke from its G7 siblings and upheld its ban on same-sex marriage. If You Created the Orphan, It's Not Adoption
The most dangerous legal threat to children today is one you’ve probably never heard of. It’s called intent-based parenthood—a legal update sweeping the nation under the banner of equality and non-discrimination. It sounds innocuous. But behind the soft language lies a brutal truth: this doctrine severs children from their biological parents and hands them to unrelated adults by contract. And gay marriage made it possible.
Surrogacy is one of the rotten fruits of legalizing homosexual 'marriage'
Send a message to your State Representatives and Senators: End surrogacy now! (Them Before Us) — Picture this: you’ve just had a baby. You’re exhausted, relieved, in love. A doctor steps in, voice steady: “You’ll be switching babies with the family across the hall. The swap is immediate and irrevocable. Thank you.” No reason. No warning. Your baby is taken to the other family, and their baby is placed in your arms. How does that make you feel? Instant revulsion? Good. That’s natural.
Retreat or Advance?
Are you shaken? Me too. And I (Katy) will be for a good while for several reasons. First, Charlie Kirk wasn’t a radical. He was an ordinary conservative Christian who said what so many of us believe better than we could. He was a faithful representation of our opinions about Christ, culture, and the Constitution. He was targeted not because he was extreme, but because he was effectively communicating what millions of average conservatives believe.
Gay Marriage Harms Kids. It's Time To End It (And Here's How) Original
Adapted from Katy Faust’s National Conservative Conference speech in Sept. 2025. In July, 21 children were rescued in Arcadia, California — 15 of them under the age of three. All were the legal children of Silvia Zhang and Xuan Guojun, a man who had held multiple positions within the Chinese government. The children — manufactured through surrogacy — were being raised in a hotel-like mansion complete with a reception desk greeting a steady stream of unidentified visitors. Gay marriage did that.

The End of Natural Parenthood
Ten years ago, via judicial fiat, the Supreme Court legalized gay marriage for the entire nation. But it did more than that. Obergefell v. Hodges not only redefined marriage. It redefined parenthood. For centuries, Anglo-American common law had operated on the assumption that children belong, by nature, to their mother and father. The state’s role was not to create these bonds but to recognize and protect them. The last decade has changed that.
How I got Grok to admit the truth about homosexual 'parenting' studies
(Them Before Us) — The story of the week has been a viral video of two men kissing their surrogate baby every month during the child’s first year. Before we even knew one of them was a convicted pedophile, normies were objecting. And I saw Grok, X’s AI bot, grossly misleading those who wanted to understand the harms of same-sex parenting. Now I’m no tech genius, but even I understand that AI is not an original thinker. It simply pulls from what’s already online.
The myth of “no difference”
The recent video of two men celebrating the milestones of their surrogate-born son went viral on X—not just for the novelty of two dads and a baby, but because one of those men was revealed to be a registered child sex offender. It’s the kind of story that has many asking: What do we really know about the outcomes for children raised by same-sex couples, even those not already flagged by law enforcement?
