A Utah company has staked a claim for rare-earth ores 4,500 acre open pit mine at Sheep Creek, not far from Darby. Forty-five hundred acres of toxic mining, affecting the headwaters of the Bitterroot River and groundwater. Contaminants, including radioactive materials, mercury, cyanide, among others, causing neurotoxicity to plants, animals and humans. The Utah company will sell it to countries like Australia and Canada, who care not the damage they will do.

I’ve been reading the Twitter #WhyIDidn’tReport thread — a response to the president’s tweet: "I have no doubt that, if the attack on Dr. Ford was as bad as she says, charges would have been immediately filed with local Law Enforcement Authorities by either her or her loving parents. I ask that she bring those filings forward so that we can learn date, time, and place!"The thread is rage-inducing, heartbreaking and not at all surprising.I was a kid.
