Divergent genomic evolution in astrocytomas and oligodendrogliomas
Abstract Astrocytomas and oligodendrogliomas are isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH)-mutant gliomas that most commonly arise in adults under the age of 50 and exhibit variable responses to treatment1,2,3. To understand the genetic drivers of disease progression, here we used whole-genome and whole-exome sequencing to characterize longitudinally collected tumour specimens from 183 patients with IDH-mutant glioma. Samples were collected through the Glioma Longitudinal Analysis (GLASS) Consortium4.
Brain Pathology | ISN Neuropathology Journal | Wiley Online Library
1 INTRODUCTION Although the majority of IDH-mutant gliomas are generally slow growing, most of the low-grade cases eventually undergo malignant transformation [1]. Alkylating agents such as temozolomide have been shown to prolong the survival of adult patients with lower-grade gliomas [2, 3]. It is also known that temozolomide treatment potentially induces hypermutation in gliomas as first shown by Johnson et al [4] and this is associated with malignant transformation of the tumors [5].

Bernard Shaw, Automata, Robots, and Artificial Intelligence
2024 | Buch This project is the first to explore how Bernard Shaw intersects constructively with automata, robots and artificial intelligence (AI). Shaw was born in the golden age of the automaton. His Bible on the Life Force and Creative Evolution, Back to Methuselah, was written when Karel and Josef Čapek coined the word “robot.” Shaw’s life ran in parallel with the rise of AI, and the big names in AI were his contemporaries.

Developing an AI-Assisted Educational Chatbot for Radiotherapy Using the IBM Watson Assistant Platform
1. Introduction This study focuses on developing an artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted educational chatbot for interactive learning in regard to radiotherapy. The chatbot’s primary goal is to facilitate the knowledge transfer of radiotherapy to the general public. Despite being a common treatment method for cancer since the introduction of X-ray, the general public has limited knowledge about radiotherapy beyond its association with cancer treatment.
