PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) — While firefighters spend long days battling the Aspen Acres Fire, hundreds of them are ending each shift in an unexpected place: a college campus. CSU Pueblo has become a temporary home for many of the firefighters and support personnel helping fight one of Colorado’s largest wildfires. According to the Alaska Complex Incident Management Team, nearly 1,700 firefighters and support staff from 29 states are working on the fire.

BEULAH, Colo. (KKTV) — The Aspen Acres Fire isn’t just forcing families from their homes. For one southern Colorado bride, it’s also forcing her to find a new place to say “I do.” Morgan Alton and her fiancé planned to get married Sept. 26 at Pueblo Mountain Park in Beulah. She said the mountain venue was the perfect setting for their wedding until the fire reached the property. “I just lost it,” Alton said.
