Construction and validation of a nomogram for overall survival prognosis in patients with advanced (stage III/IV) pancreatic cancer
Abstract In order to provide an additional tool for clinical prognosis evaluation, this research attempts to build a nomogram for predicting the survival of patients with advanced (stage Ⅲ/Ⅳ) pancreatic cancer and to preliminary evaluate its predictive impact. Data from 336 patients diagnosed with stage III/IV pancreatic cancer (2018–2025) across two Chinese hospitals were analyzed.
Perceptions of Mannequin-Based Simulation Learning in Hospital Pharmacy
Abstract Background: Mannequin-based simulations are widely used in health professional education; however, their adoption in pharmacy practice and education remains limited, especially outside critical care and emergency settings. Objectives: To evaluate perceptions, previous experiences, perceived benefits and barriers, and future interest regarding mannequin-based simulation among hospital pharmacists, pharmacy residents, and pharmacy leaders.

A three-parameter scaled memoryless BFGS method for parameter estimation and its applications
The parameter estimation problem is inevitable and necessary to address in numerous scientific domains. In this paper, we present a three-parameter scaled memoryless BFGS method applicable for solving the parameter estimation problem. This method enhances the efficiency and robustness of the algorithm through three adaptive parameters. Furthermore, a methodology for parameter selection is provided. Under reasonable conditions, the global convergence of the new algorithm is demonstrated.

Full article: Application of Multi-Inflammatory Index to Predict Atrial Fibrillation Risk in Patients with Coronary Heart Disease: A Retrospective Machine Learning Study
Abstract Background Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a leading cause of mortality worldwide, with atrial fibrillation (AF) being a common complication. Chronic inflammatory responses play a significant role in the relationship between coronary artery disease and AF. This study aims to investigate the value of the multi-inflammatory index (MII) in predicting the occurrence of atrial fibrillation in patients with coronary heart disease.

Na3GaF6:Ho3+,Yb3+@SiO2: A Novel Upconversion Sensor Material for Food Pigment Detection Application
Abstract Click to copy section linkSection link copied! Upconverting nanocrystals are widely used in the field of trace substance detection, but quantitative analysis with high sensitivity remains challenging. In this paper, we developed a novel optical sensing material for food pigment detection. A series of upconverting nanocrystals Na3GaF6:Ho3+,Yb3+ with a monoclinic phase were synthesized by the coprecipitation method.

Antioxidants | Free Full-Text | NRF2 Deficiency Attenuates Diabetic Kidney Disease in Db/Db Mice via Down-Regulation of Angiotensinogen, SGLT2, CD36, and FABP4 Expression and Lipid Accumulation in Renal Proximal Tubular Cells
1. Introduction Increased plasma-free fatty acid (FFA) levels and disturbances in lipid metabolism, including increased fatty acid oxidation and accumulation of renal lipid droplets contribute to nephropathy progression in diabetes [1,2,3,4,5]. Thus, understanding the mechanisms underlying lipid accumulation within the kidney is essential in order to prevent the development of diabetic kidney disease (DKD).
Multi‐Mode Optical Manometry Based on Li4SrCa(SiO4)2:Eu2+ Phosphors
Abstract Optical manometry is a highly promising method for measuring pressure. However, its wider application is limited by the lower sensitivity and influenced by environmental factors. Herein, multi-mode optical pressure sensors based on Eu2+-doped Li4SrCa(SiO4)2 phosphors suitable for a variety of complex pressure-measuring environments are designed. The phosphors contain two separate luminescence centers at 443 nm (EuSr) and 584 nm (EuCa), respectively.
Value of COPD History on ISR in Coronary Arteries
Background Cardiovascular disease is still one of the most common and deadly chronic diseases globally.1 In the past 40 years, the intravascular coronary artery stent implantation has become a main treatment for CAD, which can significantly improve blood flow dynamics.2 PCI reduces the mortality rate of Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) and enhances patients’ quality of life who are diagnosed with stable angina.3 Following the emergence of DES in the 21st century, the incidence rate of ISR...

Effects of infection prevention and control measures on patient and visitor violence against health workers in China during COVID-19 pandemic
Instruction Incidents of violence and harassment against health workers (HWs) have been increasing during the COVID-19 pandemic (1, 2). Evidence shows that a number of occupational risks were exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic (3).
PD-1 inhibitors with Antiangiogenic therapy for HCC
Introduction The incidence of liver cancer has been increasing in many countries in recent decades. As the most common histological type of liver cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) accounts for most liver cancer diagnoses and deaths.1 Chronic viral hepatitis and progressive liver cirrhosis are the main causes of HCC.2 Based on Barcelona staging (BCLC), the most suitable candidate for TACE is with intermediate-stage HCC (BCLC-B).

Halide perovskite as catalyst to simultaneously achieve efficient photocatalytic CO2 reduction and methanol oxidation
Halide perovskite as catalyst to simultaneously achieve efficient photocatalytic CO2 reduction and methanol oxidation Halide perovskite based photocatalyst has been firstly demonstrated to simultaneously achieve efficient photocatalytic CO2 reduction and methanol oxidation, exhibiting an exciting yield of 1835 μmol g‒1 for photocatalytic CO2-to-CO conversion. Moreover, an almost stoichiometric value-added formic acid can be produced from methanol oxidation.
