MacEagon's writing has appeared mostly on Vice's music verticals -- where he focuses on the intersection of the avant-garde and the mainstream -- and Nerdist, where he wrote as a regular culture columnist. He's now covering telling the stories of web3 builders at Decential.
He's conducted longform interviews with musical luminaries like Thurston Moore, Morton Subotnick, Alvin Lucier, Ben Frost, Jon Hassell, Glenn Branca, Michael Gordon, Yann Tiersen, and Jóhann Jóhannsson, and he's covered scenes in Brazil, China, and throughout Europe and North America.
He's also written for Earmilk and CLRVYNT, and acted as a Writer/Editor for Frontrunner Magazine. He's very slowly working on a novel and writes music as often as he can.
In addition to writing, he's a co-founder of Grey Matter, a music community app rooted in human-based discovery and meaningful creator support that will serve as a bridge between web2 and web3.
