In a haze of warped sonics, Berlin-via-Naoribi’s sound artist KMRU arrives with ‘Kin’, his guitar-led album-length return to Editions Mego. A spiritual successor of sorts to 2020’s ‘Peel’, this 6-track LP unfolds slowly — like a guitar reverb tail held in suspension, shifting to reveal submerged melodies and fleeting harmonic forms. Make no mistake, though, this isn’t background ambience.
