On Newberry Terrace in north St. Louis, two short blocks lined with historic homes reflect a neighborhood Michael Berry says he has always loved. His home dates back to 1908, and he says before the tornado, the street was known for its sense of community. “You can tell when it’s a holiday. Lots of families, barbeques, music and things like that. Very quiet street,” Berry said. But on May 16, everything changed when a tornado tore through the neighborhood.
