Up 31% in 6 months! Can Greggs shares hit 2,300p in 2027?
2026 has been a good year if you own Greggs (LSE: GRG) shares. The stock has rocketed 31% higher to 2,108p at the market close on Friday (9 October) and is seemingly back in vogue having been under immense pressure in recent times. One broker recently reiterated its price target for the stock at 2,300p. I wanted to dissect the recent gains and analyse whether we'll see the stock reach that level in the next 12 months. What's behind the recent gains?
History says the FTSE 100 is rarely this cheap versus the S&P 500
The FTSE 100 has been climbing in 2026, yet it still looks like incredible value against the S&P 500 right now. In fact, it hasn't looked this cheap against its US peers on this basis since the early 2000s. If you've been investing in Footsie stocks this year, you've probably seen the UK large-cap index continue to climb. The index is up 5.4% year-to-date to 10,491 as I write on Monday afternoon (5 October). Across the Atlantic, it's been good news for investors in the S&P 500 too.
£7,354 invested in Lloyds shares a year ago is now worth...
Lloyds LSE: LLOY ) shares were changing hands at just 73.54p a year ago. That means if you bought 10,000 shares in the company back then, they would have been worth £7,354. As I write on Friday afternoon (3 July), those same shares are now worth £11,362. That is a gain of £4,008, or 54.5%, in 12 months. With the stock hitting a fresh 52-week high of 115.45p towards the end of the week, is there still more to come?
Up 51% in a year, are Barclays shares still 14% undervalued?
Barclays LSE: BARC ) shares have soared 51% over the past year, climbing from 317.8p to 486.5p as I write on Wednesday (17 June). Despite that remarkable run, the stock is still sitting 14% below its 52-week high of 554.1p. So is there still value on the table, or has the easy money already been made? How does the valuation compare? The stock is up a tidy 183% in the last five years. That's the result of a steady turnaround since chief executive C.S. Venkatakrishnan took over in November 2021.

Why I’m not buying EasyJet shares… yet

Why I’m not buying easyJet shares… yet
Image source: Getty Images easyJet (LSE: EZJ) shares look cheap on almost every typical measure right now compared to the broader FTSE 100. For a profitable, well-known airline with one of the strongest brands in European budget travel, this sounds like it could be a bargain. So, what’s holding me back from buying the shares today? A cheap stock for a reason? As I write on Monday morning (15 June), the shares are down about 7.5% over the past year and sitting at 509.4p.
Is there a difference between MPO8 and MPO12/8?
MPO connectors have quickly become the norm for data center cabling as they efficiently provide multiple fiber pairs in a single connector body between devices to support a wide variety of singlemode or multimode applications. With performance and fiber-to-fiber end-face alignment defined by industry standards, these multi-pair connectors enable parallel lanes to deliver increased capacity in a single connection.
What on earth’s happening to the Barclays share price?
Image source: Getty Images The Barclays (LSE: BARC) share price has jumped 9.4% in the past month, climbing to 458.8p as I write on Thursday afternoon (4 June). For a stock that has seen some significant recent gains but is still down 4.3% year-to-date, it made me ask: what’s really going on? How does the maths stack up? The recent share price surge may have caught my attention, but the longer-term picture adds even more intrigue.
How to earn £596 a year in second income from 1 FTSE stock
Image source: Getty Images For investors looking to build a second income from shares, the good news is that big risks aren’t necessary to earn a meaningful return. One FTSE 100 stock is quietly offering a forward yield of 5.96% and I think it’s well worth a look. But how much could a £10,000 investment in this consumer-focused company actually generate? Here’s the maths.
Up 25% YTD! Is this red-hot penny stock still ‘cheap’?
Image source: Getty Images Market volatility has ramped up in recent weeks and we’ve seen many penny stocks take a hit. There’s one name that has caught my eye as it’s surged 25% higher since the start of the year. Pharos Energy (LSE: PHAR) shares are on the charge at the moment. I wanted to know if there’s more to this little-known energy stock with a £106m market cap than meets the eye.
Driving Faster Deployments in AI Data Centers
While the new and improved AI platforms are in the purview of the chip manufacturers, many of the solutions delivering faster go-live times are found in the infrastructure that connects AI resources, and that’s where CommScope focuses our energies—because the old axiom has never been more true: time really is money.
A once-in-a-decade opportunity to buy BAE Systems shares ‘cheaply’?
Image source: Getty Images BAE Systems (LSE: BA.) shares have been surging, yet investors could be wondering if the rally is only just beginning. With geopolitical tensions escalating and NATO allies ramping up defence budgets, could this be a generational buying opportunity? As I write early on 3 March, the stock trades at 2,240p following recent stellar results and last weekend’s tragic escalation of conflict in the Middle East.
Why I’m not buying tech growth shares… yet
Image source: Getty Images Investors have been piling into growth shares, particularly in those in the tech sector, for a number of years. The likes of the ‘Magnificant 7’ in the US have outperformed the broader market and gone from strength to strength. However, the escalating conflict between in the Middle East has got me thinking about my own investment portfolio. Geopolitical tensions are on the rise and investors are on edge.
Barclays shares are booming - but don’t ignore this risk
Image source: Getty Images Barclays (LSE: BARC) shares have been on a strong run of late, helped by rising profits and renewed confidence in the bank’s long-term strategy. After a difficult few years, investors appear to be back on board. Despite the strong gains, I wonder if the market is overlooking a key risk when it comes to the bank. Barclays has delivered solid recent results, supported by higher interest income and tighter cost control.
Should investors consider Legal & General shares for passive income?
Ken Hall For investors trying to build passive income from the stock market, Legal & General ( LSE: LGEN ) offers one of the richest dividend yields in the FTSE 100 Index . The stock is currently paying 8%, on top of some sizeable share buybacks in recent years. I wanted to investigate if this Footsie financial powerhouse is worth considering for passive income investors in 2026. What is happening with the Legal & General share price?
Why I think Greggs shares could be good value in 2026
Ken Hall Greggs ( LSE: GRG ) shares have stumbled recently, but there are a few reasons that I think they could still offer good value in 2026 for patient investors. What’s been happening to the Greggs share price? After a strong multi-year run, the company has hit a bit of a rough patch. Warmer weather has hurt sales, with consumers less likely to purchase hot baked goods during heatwaves as we’ve seen in recent years in the UK.
How much is 1k invested in Lloyds shares in January 2025 worth now?
Ken Hall Lloyds ( LSE: LLOY ) shares have had a good year. Shares in the Black Horse bank have benefitted from a higher interest rate environment, less regulatory uncertainty, and a stronger-than-expected UK economy. The company’s share price is up 87.9% in the past 12 months to 99.9p as I write on 12 January. That means those that bought at the 13 January 2025 closing price of 53.18p have earned a handsome return on their investment.
Is this FTSE 100 stock a top dividend play in 2026?
Ken Hall As the FTSE 100 Index continues to climb at the start of the year, I’ve turned my mind to potential high dividend stocks. UK grocery giant J Sainsbury ( LSE: SBRY ) is one I've got my eye on. I think the company is worth a closer look given its strong recent trading and tasty dividend. With supermarket margins squeezed and competition fierce, the Sainsbury's story is one I'd like to unpack a little further to see if it's one for income investors to consider in 2026.

Dividend yields over 5%! Can these Footsie stocks help investors build a passive income?
For anyone scanning the FTSE 100 for investments that can deliver passive income, companies such as BP (LSE: BP) and Rio Tinto (LSE: RIO) may catch their eye. Both companies currently offer dividend yields above 5%, which is well above the Footsie average of around 3.5% and better than many other UK stocks. But the question remains: are these two stocks genuinely worth considering, or are the juicy yields masking deeper risks?

Down 53% in six months! Is this FTSE 100 stock one for value investors to consider?
Ken Hall The FTSE 100 has had its share of wobblers in 2025 and advertising giant WPP ( LSE: WPP ) might just be one of the biggest. The company’s share price has crashed around 53% over the past six months to 271.7p as I write on 4 November. So, is this a screaming bargain or is the company's low valuation justified at the moment? What’s going on with the share price? The company has been through a rough patch recently.

The Times, They Are a Changing
Happy October, my nature-loving friends. Ken Hall, aka Bird Nut, here. Using the words of a famous Bob Dylan song for my heading—but not for the same purpose—I leave politics and protests to someone else. October is an amazing time of change in nature, much like March: in like a lion, out like a lamb. October is the reverse: in like a lamb, out like a lion. In the 133 years tracked, 124 years recorded the first measurable snowfall in metro Denver in October.

To Bird or Not To Bird
Happy July my nature loving friends. Ken Hall aka Bird Nut here… The title of this article is a question that will get a bit of a frown from this old guy. Some will say birding is just not for them. Well my response is, it should be. One of my greatest regrets is that I didn’t start avid bird watching and photography years earlier, when birding wasn’t cool. Don’t get me wrong, I was most interested in watching birds, it just wasn’t cool to admit it.

The conference was 25,000 live attendees, plus as many as 300,000 more online, making it among the most heavily-trafficked events CommScope has participated in this year. Several recurring themes emerged during the five-day show in San Jose, California.
