Syracuse, N.Y. — Plenty of Section III football players wasted no time lighting up the box scores for the 2026 season. Week 1 was full of explosive performances from players all across Central New York and now it’s our chance to shout them out. In seasons past, we’ve looked backwards to highlight what a player did in the previous week. This season, Lacy’s List will still highlight what a player has done in the past, but it will forecast why we’re excited to watch them this weekend.

Syracuse, N.Y. — It was an eventful week of football in Section III filled with upsets and excitement leading to changes in every classes' rankings this week. There is only one new No. 1 this week, but seven new teams make an appearance in the rankings this week. Baldwinsville, Auburn, Camden, Mexico, Solvay, Beaver River and South Lewis each picked up Week 1 wins are ranked in their respective classes this week.

Section III offensive explosion blows up syracuse.com’s Week 1 fantasy football rankings

Syracuse, N.Y. — The NFL season may not kick off until Wednesday night, but Week 1 of the Section III high school football season is in the books and the Central New York kids wasted no time breaking our fantasy football scoring. Seven players surpassed 40 points this week, with one going over the 60-point threshold. Mexico’s Caleb Robert led all Section III players this week with a mind-boggling 62.40-point performance due to 264 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns.
