Abstract Oxide perovskite superconductors typically feature stacks of metal-oxygen octahedra or planar blocks connected through corners, forming three-dimensional (3D) or 2D layered structures. Here, we find a group of quasi-1D superconducting materials among hexagonal perovskite chalcogenides with face-sharing connectivity.

Abstract Electron-phonon coupling was believed to govern the carrier transport in halide perovskites and related phases. Here we demonstrate that electron-electron interaction enhanced by Cs-involved electron redistribution plays a direct and prominent role in the low-temperature electrical transport of compressed CsPbI3 and renders Fermi liquid (FL)-like behavior.

1. Introduction Besides molecular C60 and all its structural fullerene-like descendants, carbon crystallizes as graphite and diamond, thereby opening up the two worlds of two-dimensional (2D) and also super-hard materials. (1) The number of their chemically related derivatives grows radially in the periodic table with three progressive categories from the carbon group to so-called III–V and eventually II–IV–V2 compounds.
