Titanium is a versatile material widely used for biomedical implants due to its corrosion-protective titanium oxide (titania) layer, which improves biocompatibility. (1,2) Engineering porous titania nanotubes on the titanium surface provide excellent biocompatibility and allow better integration with the surrounding bone tissue (osseointegration).
