Namak isn't our favorite Indian restaurant in Downtown Dallas, but it gets the job done. Focus your order on a couple of the hits, like the comforting goat curry and the creamy black lentils. Add some of the warm, charred naan and a couple bottles of Flying Horse beer, and you're in for a solid meal. The butter chicken is fine, but the meat can be tough, and using salmon in the otherwise good fish tikka masala is a nice touch-but the fish is occasionally too fishy tasting.

This stretch of Greenville needed some good news after St. Martin's Wine Bistro moved out. Walker's Bar & Market is it. When the lights go down and the tables fill up, Walkers' becomes one of Dallas's best date spots. Bring someone you like to share a bottle of sparkling albariño, a bunch of small plates, and a steak.

Kilmac's is owned by the same people as , and it has a few typical hallmarks of a pub, like dark woods and properly poured Guinness. But it also has a good cocktail menu-try the freezer martini and the toasted coconut daiquiri, which features a touch of tropical notes-and thin, New York-style pizzas. We like the Drunken Pepperoni and its combo of vodka sauce with pickled jalapeños, and anything with Jimmy's sausage on it.
