Global dataset of soil eukaryotic communities created with a uniform protocol and long read sequencing
Abstract Soil eukaryotes, including fungi, protists, plants, and animals, are central to biosphere functioning and resilience. The Global Standardised Soil Eukaryome Dataset (GloSED) is the first dataset encompassing the entire spectrum of soil eukaryotes, covering 4,063 sampling sites in 121 countries on all continents, revealing nearly one million operational taxonomic units. All samples were collected and analysed using a standardised protocol minimizing technical biases.

Investigation into the radioactivity of various natural and anthropogenic radionuclides in marine sediments from the Sudanese coastline of the Red Sea
Abstract A total of sixty surface sediment samples were systematically obtained from ten distinct locations along the Sudanese coastline of the Red Sea during the summer season (June 2016) and the winter season (February 2017), subsequently analyzed using high-purity germanium (HPGe) gamma spectrometry. The activity concentrations of natural radionuclides (40K, 226Ra, 232Th) as well as the anthropogenic radionuclide (137Cs) were quantified.
Particle swarm optimized deep learning for jamming detection and throughput enhancement in cognitive radio networks - Scientific Reports
Abstract Cognitive Radio Networks (CRNs) are essential for improving spectrum efficiency in 5G and beyond; however, their open and adaptive nature makes them highly vulnerable to jamming attacks. The purpose of this work is to develop an anti-jamming framework that jointly addresses jammer detection and frequency selection under adversarial conditions.

Self-driving microscopy detects the onset of protein aggregation and enables intelligent Brillouin imaging - Nature Communications
Abstract The process of protein aggregation, central to neurodegenerative diseases like Huntington’s, is challenging to study due to its unpredictable nature and relatively rapid kinetics. Understanding its biomechanics is crucial for unraveling its role in disease progression and cellular toxicity. Brillouin microscopy offers unique advantages for studying biomechanical properties, yet is limited by slow imaging speed, complicating its use for rapid and dynamic processes like protein aggregation.

AI-driven detection and analysis of label-free protein aggregates - Nature Reviews Molecular Cell Biology
Misfolded protein aggregation is closely associated with incurable neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer, Parkinson, and Huntington diseases. To advance treatments and diagnostics, a mechanistic understanding of aggregate formation and its role in disease pathogenesis is essential. One of the prevailing challenges lies in the lack of suitable tools to monitor the different phases of aggregation.

Label-free identification of protein aggregates using deep learning - Nature Communications
Abstract Protein misfolding and aggregation play central roles in the pathogenesis of various neurodegenerative diseases (NDDs), including Huntington’s disease, which is caused by a genetic mutation in exon 1 of the Huntingtin protein (Httex1). The fluorescent labels commonly used to visualize and monitor the dynamics of protein expression have been shown to alter the biophysical properties of proteins and the final ultrastructure, composition, and toxic properties of the formed aggregates.

Efficacy and safety of ondansetron for morning sickness in pregnancy: a systematic review of clinical trials
Introduction Ondansetron is a selective serotonin receptor antagonist that prevents nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery and is commonly used to treat morning sickness (Wolf, 2000). It is estimated that 70%–80% of pregnant women suffer from morning sickness, a condition characterized by nausea and vomiting (Lee and Saha, 2011). Conditions such as malnutrition and dehydration can cause risks to the health of both the fetus and the mother (Maltepe, 2014).

6 Things You Should Know If You’re a Hijabi Who Wants to Run
As a nine-time marathoner, 15-time half-marathoner , and two-time sprint triathlete, there’s not much of a reason for me to be in the news. I didn’t win any of those races, and, while I'm proud of my accomplishments, plenty of other people have run just as much or more. But if I told you that I’m a Muslim who wears the hijab (an Arabic word meaning “to cover”) and founded the Instagram account Run Like a Hijabi , then you would understand why I’ve made several headlines.
