Police in Innisfil are looking to identify two teens accused of a robbery outside a retail business earlier this week. South Simcoe police say the teens, thought to be about 16 or 17 years old, allegedly approached the complainants and directed them to walk to the back of the building.

Police in Barrie are looking to identify the driver of a truck allegedly involved in a hit-and-run. Police say a woman reported she was crossing the street at Yonge Street and Montgomery Drive around 5:30 p.m. when she was struck. Authorities say the involved vehicle is described as a white four-door truck that was last seen heading north on Yonge Street. There was no word on any injuries. Anyone with information is asked to contact the investigating officer via email.

Motorists who choose to get behind the wheel impaired will face tougher penalties in the new year. Starting January 1, new rules will come into effect in Ontario for impaired and alcohol-related driving offences. “No family should ever face the heartbreak of losing a loved one or the trauma of a life-changing injury because of a dangerous and careless driver,” said Minister of Transportation Prabmeet Sarkaria.
