A Salisbury holistic therapist who turned her own mental health journey into a business helping others has been named a finalist in a national awards scheme. Charlene Thornborough, owner of Calm with Charlene, has been shortlisted in the Rising Star category at the HBA Awards, which recognise up-and-coming talent in the hair, beauty and aesthetics industry. Her holistic therapy business is based at her home in Salisbury city centre.

A charity gala has raised more than £10,000 to support people experiencing hair loss. The event was organised by Salisbury-based charity OCTO and was held at The Guildhall on June 27. More than 100 guests attended the fundraiser, which raised more than £10,000 to support people affected by cancer treatment or other health conditions causing hair loss. Molly Cook, founder of OCTO and owner of The Hair Extension Cave, said: "I'm completely overwhelmed by the support the community has shown for OCTO.
