President Donald Trump announced Saturday that he nominated Lance Schroyer, a former Oklahoma state trooper, to take over as director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. "I am very pleased to announce that I have nominated Lance Schroyer to be our next ICE Director," Trump wrote in a Truth Social post. "Lance has over 29 YEARS of Law Enforcement experience in Oklahoma." Schroyer, who currently serves as a senior adviser to Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, will replace Todd Lyons.

June 26, 2026, 7:33 PM EDT Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said Friday that he and his family in Michigan were targeted by a “false report” to state authorities claiming he was a danger to his 4-year-old twins. Michigan State Police confirmed in a statement that they had received an anonymous report regarding Buttigieg. State police and Child Protective Services then responded and “determined the report was false,” the statement said.
