SEMA Industry Indicators: U.S. Economy Expected to Finish Q4 Strong, But Uncertainty Remains
While U.S. economic growth was underwhelming in the third quarter, incoming economic data suggests growth is revving up in the fourth quarter, barring any major setbacks from omicron or other major uncertainties. SEMA Industry Indicators: Economic Outlook Remains Positive, but Supply Constraints and Inflation Remain Challenges
The overall U.S. economic outlook remains positive as the country continues to bounce back from 2020. However, challenges remain on the horizon: supply-chain constraints, inflationary pressure, a tight labor market and a potential COVID-19 resurgence. New Research Shows Specialty-Equipment Industry Largely Saw Sales Growth Over Past Year
While the past year has been disruptive to many sectors of the economy, the specialty-equipment industry has largely weathered the pandemic. Auto sales also spiked last month, hitting levels not seen in more than three years. Manufacturing has been especially strong, adding 53,000 jobs.
March Industry Indicators: U.S. Economic Outlook Improves Significantly as Vaccinations Accelerate
Economic activity has improved significantly over the last month. The rate of vaccinations is accelerating and the number of COVID-19 cases, while still high, is improving. Additionally, the COVID relief bill likely will push economic growth above forecasts for the back half of 2021 and through much of 2022. All of this paints a much better economic outlook for the economy as we move past the pandemic. While the outlook is optimistic, there are some potential risks.
