Hayward PD: Man resembling ‘Justin Bieber’ wanted in kidnapping attempt

HAYWARD — Hayward Police on Saturday were searching for a “Justin Bieber look-alike” man allegedly suspected of attempting to kidnap a woman Friday afternoon at the intersection of Jackson Street and Soto Road. The woman told police that the man grabbed her Friday at about 3:15 p.m. as she was walking northbound along Soto Road, according to a news release. He forcibly moved her about 15 to 20 feet as she screamed and struggled to break free, police said.

Livermore school board hires new superintendent Original

Anthony Limoges, an associate superintendent of human resources for the Rocklin Unified School District in Placer County, will start the job on July 1. The decision by the board caps months of searching for a replacement, which included the help of the Alameda County Board of Education. The district will pay Limoges a starting annual salary of $329,000, with a potential 5% raise after six months based on his performance and pending board approval, according to his contract.
