How is social media changing news?

Social media has made news more accessible and interactive, which is largely a good thing. But it’s also a tool that tends to reward speed and reaction. In music journalism, I think it’s important to pair that immediacy with careful research and thoughtful commentary, so the focus stays on understanding rather than hype.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To me, being a journalist means paying close attention and helping readers see something more clearly. It involves curiosity, research, and a responsibility to present a subject with fairness and context. I try to approach music with honesty and sincerity, offering thoughtful perspective without resorting to harshness or provocation. At its best, journalism connects readers to something deeper while respecting the work and the people behind it.

I have to admit I’m not much of a hashtag follower, so I’m probably not the best guy to ask on that.
