INTRODUCTION Creatine kinase (CK) is a muscle enzyme involved in the phosphocreatine circuit for energy supply of muscles [1], whilst aldolase is a glycolytic enzyme abundantly expressed in not only muscles but also liver, brain and red blood cells [2]. Elevation of serum CK (hyperCKemia) and aldolase level is considered a biomarker of muscle damage secondary to a leakage of these cytosolic enzymes into the bloodstream [3]. HyperCKemia is often accompanied by high aldolase level [4, 5].
