EPRI recently recognized 14 projects highlighting application of EPRI’s nuclear research for measurable improvements in safety, reliability, efficiency, cost performance, and regulatory confidence across the global nuclear fleet. The 2025 EPRI Nuclear Technology Transfer Awards were selected by the EPRI Nuclear Power Council Executive Committee out of a total of 118 nominations. Awards were presented at a ceremony in Phoenix on February 10 during EPRI’s Winter Nuclear Advisory Meeting.

Every January, the same question resurfaces: Why can’t we just let people celebrate Australia Day in their own way? And every year, our answer stays the same: because January 26 isn’t a neutral date. And whether you’re a business, a media organisation, or a leader, choosing silence is not neutral either, it’s complacency. For many First Nations people, January 26 marks the beginning of invasion, dispossession, violence and genocide.

In a community proud of its Christian faith, the Brainerd City Council’s decision to shut down The Bridge homeless shelter and ban camping during summer is shameful. Rather than embodying the compassion Jesus preached, the city is abandoning its most vulnerable. By denying shelter and criminalizing camping, Brainerd forces homeless individuals to face the dangers of the outdoors without refuge. This is not charity; it’s cruelty and a betrayal of Christian principles.
