BONO HAS CALLED for the release of Palestinian leader Marwan Barghouti, who has been held in an Israeli prison since 2002. Barghouti, 66, is serving five life sentences and an additional 40 years after he was convicted by Israel of deadly attacks during the Second Intifada, which he denies. Bono has called for Barghouti to be released from prison, giving his support to the “Free Marwan” campaign.

THE COMPANY BEHIND Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence agent Grok has faced backlash after rolling out a new function that permits users to generate explicit images of real people without their consent. An “edit image” function available to X users was introduced on Grok in late December. It allows users to request modifications to a photo and receive an AI-generated edited version in response. Some X users have used the tool to change or remove clothing from real people in photographs.
