Whatever you believe a woman’s place to be, I think we can safely set aside these 5 worn gender tropes… Women aren’t competitive – I knew an older lady who always let her husband “win” in card games. She grew up in Texas and thought it was unladylike for a woman to come out ahead, even emasculating.

Do you sometimes wake with a feeling of unease? Seventy is only a few years away and starting to wink at me like some strange guy at a singles bar. I’m both wary and intrigued. But here are five things that help me overcome that “running out of runway” feeling. Seeing positive role models – Lucky me! I happen to live with one of the best role models for aging I know. If I had a nickel for every time I heard someone say how great my 90-year-old mom looks, I’d be up there with Musk and Bezos.
