Introduction Cotton, as a core raw material for the textile industry, is one of the most important economic crops, playing a crucial strategic supporting role in the agricultural economy and international trade. The 2024 cotton planting area and yield in Xinjiang were 2.36×106ha and 5.11×106t, accounting for 90.99% and 84.68% of the total output and planting area of China, respectively (National Bureau of Statistics of China 2024). Xinjiang is located in the hinterland of Eurasia.
