7 remain hospitalized after lightning strike on grounds of Grafton Correctional Institution

Nine of 16 incarcerated individuals who were struck by lightning Tuesday at the Grafton Correctional Institution in Lorain County have been released from the hospital and returned to the facility, according to an update provided by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. Seven others remain hospitalized, including one listed in serious condition.

Summa Health names new president and CEO

Summa Health announced Monday that Jennifer Eslinger will serve as the organization's next president and chief executive officer. Eslinger comes to Akron from Rochester Regional Health in New York, where she served as president and chief operating officer. Eslinger will join Summa Health on Sept. 21 and lead its continued transformation to a for-profit medical system. Last October, Health Assurance Transformation Company (HATCo) took over ownership.
