Development and validation of the dizziness fear-avoidance behaviours and beliefs inventory for patients with vestibular disorders

The objective of this study was to develop and psychometrically validate a new instrument that assesses self-reported fear-avoidance cognitions and behaviors in patients with vestibular disorders. The study’s findings show that the instrument has good psychometric properties and good sensitivity and specificity in classifying severe fear-avoidance behaviors and cognitions and their relationship with disability.
