BEEVILLE, Texas — A deadly house fire is under investigation in Beeville, along Ellis Road near U.S. 181, where fire officials confirmed the death of one person inside the home. The fire broke out Tuesday afternoon, where crews remained on scene for hours. According to first responders, multiple family members were taken to the hospital, and several firefighters had to also be treated for minor injuries.

Volunteer boaters needed for C.A.S.T For Kids event at Rockport Beach Park

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The annual C.A.S.T. for Kids event is returning to Rockport Beach on the morning of Saturday, Aug. 1, and organizers are asking local boaters to help make the day possible for dozens of children with special needs. The event gives children with special needs the opportunity to spend a morning on the water, fishing alongside volunteer boat captains. Each child is paired with a boater for a two- to three-hour fishing trip and is accompanied by a parent or guardian.
