Interview

Have you ever used a typewriter?

I learned to type in school on a typewriter, and early newsrooms still used electric typewriters, but quickly converted to computers.

How is social media changing news?

Plusses and minuses here. People's viewpoints are everywhere, but news is often confused with the passing along of false information.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

True journalists do their own research, their own interviews, and enterprise their own stories. They get to the facts any way possible.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

The internet, the phone, face-to-face interviews.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I'm most proud of stories which I think have a hand in altering people's social consciousness.

When's the best time to pitch you?

A viable story can be pitched to me morning, noon, or night... phone is on 24/7.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Out on a story, recording a radio interview, or doing research for the above.
