Lester William Smith

The funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at the Christian Life Center in Belle Fourche. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills. Interment will take place in Pine Slope Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Belle Fourche Compassion Cupboard. Lester is survived by his wife, Sharon; brothers, David (Marlene) Smith and Loren (Rosie) Smith; and sisters, Janice Barber and Donna (Austin) Post.

Posted: Wednesday, October 26, 2016 11:30 am Lester Smith, 69 Lester Smith, 69, of Belle Fourche, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2016, at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, Colo. Funeral arrangements are pending with Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche.

Lester served in the Army as an MP in Tennessee for a year and a half. He married Olive "Ollie" Norelius on May 25, 1948. They were married for 61 years. During this time, they had three children, Jerry, Steve and LeeAnn. They lived in Barron, where he was a hardware manager at the Farmers Store/Hansons/Kirkwoods until he retired. They moved to Ridgeland in 2005 until 2009, where they enjoyed being closer to their family.
