2 people arrested in connection to Parkland teen killed in front of girlfriend Original

PARKLAND, Wash. — The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office says two people were arrested Sunday night – one week after a Parkland teen was shot and killed in front of his girlfriend. The department says one of the suspects, a 25-year-old man, was arrested by the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. The second suspect, a 26-year-old woman, was arrested by Tulalip police at the Walmart. Detectives are still looking for other people of interest in the case.

The bodies of six employees have been recovered from the Nippon Dynawave packaging plant in Longview, where a chemical tank exploded earlier this week. Longview paper mill cited for several violations of its ecology permit

KIRO 7 News has discovered that the Longview paper mill that imploded Tuesday has been cited several times by the Washington Department of Ecology for violations of its wastewater and air operating permit. According to their permit, Nippon Dynawave Packing Company plant’s sulfur dioxide emissions, “shall not exceed 1,000 parts per million for an hourly average.” On August 6, 2024, the smell of sulfur may have been more noticeable in the city.
