Ecological assembly of activated sludge microbiomes under contrasting process configurations and influent regimes
Abstract Activated sludge microbial communities are central to pollutant removal and operational stability in petrochemical wastewater treatment plants (PWWTPs). However, in full-scale systems, the relative associations of process configuration and influent composition with microbial community organization and treatment performance remain difficult to disentangle.
The association between the frequency of soy protein intake and lower-limb muscle strength: a multicenter cross-sectional survey of adolescents in Mainland China
Abstract Background: Lower-limb muscle strength is a critical component of physical fitness in adolescents, yet the relationship between dietary protein sources and muscle function in this population remains underexplored. Economic impacts, legal harmonization, and policy logic of China’s accession to the 2010 hazardous and noxious substances convention
Abstract As China emerges as a prominent hub for the maritime transport of hazardous and noxious substances (HNS), its existing compensation regime reveals significant structural weaknesses in addressing large-scale transboundary incidents. Relevant legislation, including the Ecological Environment Code and the Maritime Code, suffers from ambiguous liability provisions, inadequate compensation limits, a limited scope of coverage, and the lack of a dedicated compensation fund.

1 Introduction Social pleasure is important for relieving pressure from stressful work and study environments. Socially anhedonic individuals often feel less pleasant about social interactions, gradually withdraw from them, and develop deficient social functions. With poor social performance, individuals with social anhedonia may receive more negative social feedback, which aggravates social withdrawal and subsequent emotional disorders.

Wavelength dependent photochemistry of an iron dinitrogen hydride complex via multiple spectroscopies - competing ejection of axial ligands
Wavelength dependent photochemistry of an iron dinitrogen hydride complex via multiple spectroscopies – competing ejection of axial ligands† Nitrogenase (N2ase) is a critical enzyme which catalyzes the reaction of N2 → NH3 in nature. Studies on the spectroscopy and photochemistry of trans-[FeII(DMeOPrPE)2(N2)H][BPh4] (1) and its isotopologues (2–6) provide a possible first step to evaluate the geometries and properties of the real N2ase–N2 structure(s).

Molecular evolution of the transcription factor PRDM genes and expression profiles in response to stimulations and spinal cord injury repair in lamprey (Lethenteron reissneri) | Immunogenetics
Abstract Positive regulatory domain member (PRDM) family proteins play important roles in nervous system development, neural stem cell proliferation and differentiation, and central nervous system inflammation. The unique evolutionary position of the lamprey (Lethenteron reissneri) as one of the oldest jawless vertebrates makes it an ideal animal model for understanding vertebrate evolution. Nevertheless, the evolutionary characteristics of PRDM genes have not yet been demonstrated in lampreys.

Synthesis, characterization and in vitro antitumor activity of asiatic acid derivatives - Medicinal Chemistry Research
Abstract Twenty-seven asiatic acid derivatives were designed and synthesized in this paper, including twenty-two new compounds. The synthesized compounds were confirmed by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and HRMS. The antitumor activities of all compounds against A549, Hela and HepG2 cancer cells in vitro were evaluated. Notably, AA-6a (IC50 = 1.10 ± 0.25 μM) has better antitumor activity than gefitinib (IC50 = 83.75 ± 1.72 μM) against A549 cells.
