To be generous or spiteful? A bilateral exploration of fairness preferences in supply chains with downstream competition
1 INTRODUCTION Recent tensions in global trade, particularly in critical sectors such as semiconductor chips, consumer electronics, and related industries, are reshaping cooperation and competition dynamics in supply chains.
Electrochemical hydrogenation of biomass substrates with cation shuttling in a solid electrolyte reactor
Abstract Electrochemical hydrogenation of biomass-derived substrates offers a sustainable route to valuable chemicals, yet conventional systems often struggle to simultaneously achieve high efficiency and high product purity. Here we report an electrochemical process based on a porous solid-electrolyte reactor that integrates efficient hydrogenation with intrinsic purification for biomass-derived substrates, thereby eliminating the need for supporting electrolytes.
Stand age influences the climate response and growth resilience of Picea wilsonii to extreme drought and cold events
Abstract Global climate change has intensified the frequency and severity of extreme climate events, posing significant threats to forest ecosystem stability. While the impacts of drought have been extensively studied, the comparative resilience of trees to different types of stressors (such as extreme cold) and how these responses vary across developmental stages remains poorly understood.
Promoting direct C─N coupling via NO intermediate modulation for highly selective electrochemical urea synthesis
Abstract INTRODUCTION RESULTS DISCUSSION MATERIALS AND METHODS Acknowledgments Supplementary Materials REFERENCES Information & Authors Metrics & Citations View Options References Figures Tables Media Share Abstract The electrochemical synthesis of urea from carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitrate (NO3−) is a sustainable route yet remains challenging, primarily due to slow carbon-nitrogen (C─N) coupling and competing ammonia (NH3) formation.
Ferroptosis: a promising therapeutic target for periodontitis
Abstract Periodontitis is a chronic inflammatory disease driven by dysbiotic biofilm and abnormal host adaptive immune responses, characterized by irreversible destruction of periodontal tissues. Recent studies indicate that ferroptosis—a form of iron-dependent lipid peroxidation-mediated cell death—is not a passive outcome of the disease process but rather an important active inducer and pathological amplifier in the development of periodontitis.

CCR7+ dendritic cells expressing both IL-23A and IL-12B potentially contribute to psoriasis relapse - Nature Communications
Abstract Interleukin (IL)−23 is the master pathogenic cytokine in psoriasis and neutralization of IL-23 alleviates psoriasis. Psoriasis relapses after the withdrawal of anti-IL-23 antibodies, and the persistence of IL-23-producing cells potentially contributes to such recurrence, but the cellular source of IL-23 is unclear.

Capturing Copper Single Atom in Proton Donor Stimulated O‐End Nitrate Reduction
1 Introduction Ammonia (NH3) is widely utilized in diverse industries, including chemical products, pharmaceuticals, fertilizers, and fuels, playing a fundamental role in contemporary society.[1-3] Currently, the dominant method for NH3 production is the energy-intensive Haber-Bosch process.[4, 5] This process requires high temperatures (≈500 °C) and pressures exceeding 100 atmospheres, resulting in substantial energy consumption and significant carbon dioxide emissions.[6-10] Consequently,...

Modulating the Electronic Structure of Cobalt in Molecular Catalysts via Coordination Environment Regulation for Highly Efficient Heterogeneous Nitrate Reduction
Introduction Ammonia (NH3) holds immense significance as a vital industrial chemical worldwide for the production of fertilizers, pharmaceutical products, explosives, etc.1 It is also regarded as an ideal energy carrier with no carbon emission due to its high energy density and hydrogen capacity.2 However, traditional NH3 synthesis methods, such as the highly energy-intensive Haber–Bosch process, contribute significantly to carbon emission,3 necessitating alternative approaches for NH3...
Spin-related Cu-Co pair to increase electrochemical ammonia generation on high-entropy oxides - Nature Communications
Abstract The electrochemical conversion of nitrate to ammonia is a way to eliminate nitrate pollutant in water. Cu-Co synergistic effect was found to produce excellent performance in ammonia generation. However, few studies have focused on this effect in high-entropy oxides. Here, we report the spin-related Cu-Co synergistic effect on electrochemical nitrate-to-ammonia conversion using high-entropy oxide Mg0.2Co0.2Ni0.2Cu0.2Zn0.2O.

Bidirectional temporal feature for 3D human pose and shape estimation from a video
Abstract 3D human pose and shape estimation is the foundation of analyzing human motion. However, estimating accurate and temporally consistent 3D human motion from a video remains a challenge. By now, most of the video-based methods for estimating 3D human pose and shape rely on unidirectional temporal features and lack more comprehensive information.
Tenascin C+ papillary fibroblasts facilitate neuro-immune interaction in a mouse model of psoriasis - Nature Communications
Abstract Dermal fibroblasts and cutaneous nerves are important players in skin diseases, while their reciprocal roles during skin inflammation have not been characterized. Here we identify an inflammation-induced subset of papillary fibroblasts that promotes aberrant neurite outgrowth and psoriasiform skin inflammation by secreting the extracellular matrix protein tenascin-C (TNC).
Targeting the transcription factor HES1 by L-menthol restores protein phosphatase 6 in keratinocytes in models of psoriasis - Nature Communications
Abstract Protein Phosphatase 6 down-regulation in keratinocytes is a pivotal event that amplifies the inflammatory circuits in psoriasis, indicating that restoration of protein phosphatase 6 can be a rational strategy for psoriasis treatment. Through the phenotypic screen, we here identify L-menthol that ameliorates psoriasis-like skin inflammation by increasing protein phosphatase 6 in keratinocytes.

A micropeptide encoded by lncRNA MIR155HG suppresses autoimmune inflammation via modulating antigen presentation
Abstract Many annotated long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) harbor predicted short open reading frames (sORFs), but the coding capacities of these sORFs and the functions of the resulting micropeptides remain elusive. Here, we report that human lncRNA MIR155HG encodes a 17–amino acid micropeptide, which we termed miPEP155 (P155).

Ultraconserved element uc.372 drives hepatic lipid accumulation by suppressing miR-195/miR4668 maturation
To identify ucRNAs that are potentially involved in hepatic lipid metabolism, we first searched for ucRNAs that are upregulated in the liver of db/db mice. LncRNA-wide expression profiling identified 16 ucRNAs, representing 3% of all ucRNAs analyzed, that were aberrantly increased by ~6.1- to ~30.4-fold in the liver of db/db mice accompanied by abnormal hepatic lipid accumulation, compared to the livers of wild-type (WT) mice (Fig. 1a, Supplementary Fig. 1a, b).

Phosphate tuned copper electrodeposition and promoted formic acid selectivity for carbon dioxide reduction
Fabrication of catalytically active electrodes by electrodeposition is attractive due to its in situ nature, easy controllability, and large-scale operation capability. Most recently, modifying the electrodes with phosphate ligands through electrodepositing electrode materials has shown promising results in improving the kinetics of some reactions. However, it is unclear how the presence of phosphate anions affects the electrodeposition process and functions in catalyzing reactions.
