Multidisciplinary treatment incorporating autologous DC-CIK cell therapy induces long-term survival in advanced pancreatic cancer: a case report
Abstract Pancreatic cancer is widely acknowledged as one of the most aggressive malignancies of the digestive system. More than 80% of patients are diagnosed at an advanced stage with an extremely poor prognosis. While contemporary combination chemotherapy and the novel RAS inhibitor daraxonrasib have modestly prolonged survival, clinical benefits remain limited, necessitating less toxic yet more substantial and durable therapeutic strategies.
Association of intraoperative cell salvage combined with standard allogeneic transfusion with hematological parameters and clinical outcomes in pediatric tracheoplasty: a non-randomized cohort study
Abstract Objective: To investigate associations of intraoperative autologous blood salvage (IOCS) combined with allogeneic transfusion vs. allogeneic transfusion alone in pediatric slide tracheoplasty (STP) for congenital tracheal stenosis (CTS), regarding hematological parameters, coagulation function, clinical outcomes, and safety. Methods: From October 2023 to February 2025, 69 children meeting inclusion criteria were enrolled in this non-randomized study.
A comparative study of machine learning models for microbiome-based diagnosis and multi-class staging of colorectal cancer
Abstract Colorectal cancer (CRC) is closely associated with gut microbiota dysbiosis; however, comprehensive benchmarking of machine learning models that integrate case–control differentiation with TNM staging remains limited. To address this gap, we systematically evaluated eight machine learning algorithms using 16S rRNA sequencing data derived from fecal samples.
Heterogeneity in risk and potential pathogenic associations of NAFLD among distinct prediabetic phenotypes in young and middle-aged adults
Abstract Objective: Prediabetes exhibits a high comorbidity rate with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), significantly increasing the risks of diabetes progression and other complications. This study aims to clarify the differences in NAFLD risk among different prediabetes phenotypes and explore their underlying associations. Methods: A cohort of 2127 prediabetic individuals aged 18–59 years was enrolled.

Abstract Human mobility, climate change and demographic trends increase the risk of pathogen spillover and expansion. Data that can inform our responses to outbreaks have increased in availability and volume, but access to highly confidential outbreak data and commercially sensitive contextual information remains difficult.

Prevalence and risk factors of latent tuberculosis infection among household contacts of tuberculosis patients: a cross-sectional study
Abstract Background: Household contacts (HHCs) of tuberculosis patients are at higher risk for latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI). However, current knowledge regarding LTBI prevalence and risk factors among HHCs in Shandong Province, China remains limited. Objective: This study aims to determine the prevalence of LTBI among HHCs of tuberculosis patients and identify associated risk factors.
Cancer-Associated Fibroblasts Functions as Multifunctional Architects of the Tumor Stroma and Represent Emerging Therapeutic Vulnerabilities
1 Introduction Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs), the principal stromal architects of tumor ecosystems, represent the most abundant and prominent cellular population within the tumor microenvironment (TME). These cells mediate pleiotropic effects on malignancy through dynamic reciprocity with neoplastic and immune compartments [1, 2].
