Abstract Mesenchymal-type colorectal cancer is frequently refractory to immunotherapy, with resistance largely driven by a cancer-associated fibroblast-mediated fibrotic barrier and immune exclusion. Here, we show that TXNDC5, a protein disulfide isomerase upregulated in both human and mouse colorectal cancer-associated fibroblasts, is a critical regulator of this immunosuppressive niche.

1. Introduction Although there have been significant changes in cancer prevention and screening in the United States in recent years, cervical cancer (CC) is known to be one of the most common causes of cancer deaths for American women [1,2,3]. A major cause of CC is the long-lasting (persistent) infection of certain types of the human papillomavirus (HPV), particularly HPV-16 or HPV-18.
