The City of Belleville is advising residents that ongoing power disruptions at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre (QSWC) are impacting facility operations and programming. All aquatic and recreational programming scheduled for Friday evening, as well as all ice and meeting room rentals at the facility, have been cancelled. Programming and facility operations may continue to be impacted over the weekend.

Humane Society Hastings-Prince Edward has signed the Ontario SPCA’s No Hot Pets Pledge. The annual summer awareness campaign is designed to promote pet safety in the warmer months. Officials stress that temperatures can climb in vehicles in a matter of minutes, and leave pets vulnerable. Here’s a few tips from the local humane society on social media. If you see a hot pet in a car, call 911. Think twice when you put your dog in the car. Will you need to get out of the car at any point?
