Lisa Evans’s Biography
Who Am I?
I am a travel journalist, author, podcaster, and photographer. I enjoy history and culture, outdoors and nature, and I often include them in my writing.
In addition, I love exploring parks, gardens, waterfalls, rivers, animals, birding, stunning sunrises, and sunsets. Wherever beauty and grace can be found, I’m there.
My Story
I try to find the unique aspects of places I visit so I can share what I find with others. History, culture, and music are passions -every place has a story to tell if only you find it.
Exploring different areas and cultures, whether through museums, music, or other art forms, or conversations with wise, ordinary people, uncovers a myriad of information to share with the world. Learning is a lifelong quest and always interesting.
On the Horizon
I have so many places I want to visit! I recently visited the beautiful islands of the Bahamas, as well as Roatan, Belize City, and Cozumel. For 2026, I have numerous trips planned all over the country and into Mexico and the Caribbean. It's going to be a busy year!
On the international front, venturing into England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales has always been a goal. Equally important are Italy, Greece, and other parts of Europe. All hold a great deal of interest for me, as well as for other parts of Canada, Mexico, Central America, and various areas of the Caribbean. In truth, I would like to explore almost everywhere!
Whenever simple beauty and the deep roots of history entwine hold endless intrigue for me. There are many places to seek out and discover in this world, and I’m going to do my best to visit as many as I can!
As shown in my current book, I also enjoy writing about my local area, sharing my knowledge and experiences so others can appreciate it too. One ongoing project is delving into some music history and areas along the Mississippi Blues Trail, while continuing to work on projects that offer an in-depth look at my local Coastal Mississippi area.
My book, 100 Things to Do in Coastal Mississippi Before You Die, was published and released by Reedy Press in September 2022.
