Abby Myers traveled to Newport News to compete at the Virginia State Pageant for the High School America circuit. By the end of the day, she achieved something many young contestants dream of when she was crowned Miss Virginia Junior High School America.

WINCHESTER — When emergency responders arrive at a scene involving children, the sights, sounds, and chaos can be overwhelming to a child. To help ease that fear, the Lake Holiday Quilters Club in Cross Junction recently donated 15 stuffed animals, including 11 handcrafted Teddy bears, to the Gainesboro Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company.
